Cheesy Corn

3 (16 oz. ea) packages frozen corn
12 ounces cream cheese, cubed
1/4 cup butter or margarine cubed
3 tablespoons water
3 tablespoons milk
2 tablespoons sugar
6 slices American cheese, cut into small pieces

Combine all ingredients in a crock pot. Mix well. Cover and cook on low for 4 hours or until heated through and the cheese is melted. Stir well before serving.
